As for hearing effects: I play bass and ride motorcycles. I've played in loud bands in the past although not excruciatingly loud. I've always worn earplugs on the bike, but have the suspicion that this is where my tinnitus began. Two years ago I had Musican's Earplugs made (foam mold injection into the ear cavity) for use playing and riding. On the bike, sometimes any earplug in has sometimes set up a vibration frequency in my head that drove me to remove the plugs as it was more comfortable. The crickets are starting to get a little too pervasive in my life.
