What matters is the monthly trend and the global lows. The setbacks aren't important, at least as far as the long run is concerned.

Hey can I ask if you still experiencing crackling in the ears when swallowing. Or any sensation of ear fullness (not muffled hearing though). Thanks, hope you’re doing well.

One week into new dieting regime results: 1) woke up to pretty silent T, 2) still reactionary as heck, 3) craving chocolate SO BAD.

So hang in there! Don’t expect any results so early in, as I think you usually start to notice something after at least a month or, with keto, once ketosis sets in, I think?

By the way, I just saw someone on Reddit who said he eliminated his tinnitus after he got on the Carnivore diet (aka The MEN! Diet For MEN! Who Love Their MEAT!), but that took at least 6 months. Not to discourage you, but the opposite: it goes to show we’re all different, and it could take a little while until your body starts to adjust and repair.

Either way, I think all the Paleo, Keto and Carnivore diets, as well as the intermittent fasting regimes have one thing in common: minimal sugar and carbs, minimal processed foods, all nature.

I have no idea why it’s always only one of them, but the fact that a sound usually affects only one ear while the other one is fine is, like I said, mostly a confirmation that the physical ear itself is fine, and it’s an expression of the brain -coming from the fight or flight stimuli.

My audiologist pointed out the longer term trends is what matters. This is the same approach as we need to take for a lot of things, from fitness to finance to work. Right now I'm helping produce Q1 reports and it's a lot clearer now how a few campaigns and tests have performed. It really wasn't clear at the beginning, because the daily data was too erratic, but now we can see the complexity of it all.

It might be good to annotate your T in a diary with a 1 to 10 scale. I got the idea from a powerlifter called Johnny Candito when he did this with a back injury he had. It meant that when he had a bad day, he could look back and see how the overall trend had improved as time had gone on.

Yes, I've started annotating the T several times now, but each time it proved very difficult or undoable, as my T changes so much throughout the day. A day can start very good, and completely go bad, or vice versa.

After months of gradual worsening, yesterday, I woke up to no T. It slowly came back, but lower in volume (whisper it: am I... recovering?).

Hang in there, @Strife_84! You know what they say - the initial volume decrease is more noticeable than later ones. The important thing is, that it IS decreasing!

Ok. Realized T is gone, all of a sudden. Tempted to just stay like this. Position is hurting neck, but it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

No, not something special, just hunching over my iPad. I just noticed, also earlier, that once I move, or do or think something, it comes back. Might have had to do with things I just listened to? That I had just worked out? Combined with position? And my focus on that? Combined with a certain state of calmness.

Even though my baseline seems to increase lately due to exposing myself to sounds, I also get these random moments of low T. I keep hoping that would also lower my baseline, but the following morning, nope.

And yes, it’s great and encouraging that it can go this low at times, even though it’s combined with moments of louder T. Mornings are sometimes louder than evenings now... the complete opposite of before.

@Drone Draper, extremely heightened. Only wear them when I also have the dishwasher running that night. My ears still need to readjust to sounds.

@Strife_84, I also usually feel better when they’re in, since I can tell myself the heightened T isn’t real, is not as loud as compared to regular sounds, it’s just my perception. Also, you don’t need to think about environment sounds. But I overplugged for a month due to pain hyperacusis, so I really need to work on desensitization and plug as little as possible.

@Strife_84 thats exactly how it was for me on friday afternoon, I guess we were not ready yet for the exposure to sounds. In my case, it might have been the PC fan, but I dont know for sure, as I also did not have my meds that day.
