One of the most difficult things about speaking publicly about my tinnitus is some random saying "dude just ignore it. I ignore mine."

Yeah, same here. I had a very busy week at work and even if tinnitus was annoying I managed to forget it most of the day. It's another story at night but It's been a pretty good week. I'll consider a win too then. I soooooo hope we'll all be winners soon.

@HeavyMantra I don't know. I was having a "quiet" day and suddenly my left ear just went PING followed by chirping and since then I've been struggling hard.

Sorry to hear that. So did the volume increase, or is it more a step back in the habituation process and anxiety? I got a new tone less than a week ago and it also seems completely random. Makes me question what the cause of my tinnitus is.

I am doing the Autoimmune Protocol/Paleo (AIP) diet and I'm 42 days in. I'm 10 weeks in with Hyperacusis and Tinnitus. The areas I've noticed improvement in are dizziness, burning pain, painful teeth, fullness, headache and anxiety. I still have difficult days, but not as overwhelming as 10 weeks ago.

I thought I had heard it all before but I have had a terrible spike over the past week and now it seems to have settled down to my "normal" ringing but I am still worried it will spike again. The good thing is that I have the inner and mental strength to deal with it now than I did 5 years ago

sometimes I wonder if there's just a nerve spazzing out in my head that causes the electrical feeling. What does everyone else think?
      1. weab00
        weab00
I have a conspiracy that the reactivity is caused by electricity or wires that I can't see, and my hearing is so sensitive that it's interacting with it.

I also think about this. When I pull my next back and do a chin tuck, my tinny, high-pitched, electricity on glass tone attenuates quite a bit. I wonder if it's a pinched nerve in the neck, shoulders, or back as well.

@tbuzz89 I think of that too. If I clench my jaw, or push my head back my tinnitus turns from static to a high pitch whine. I don't understand how "they" don't know why.

I've been experiencing pain in my left ear tho, like a slight burning sensation. It sucks but I have to deal with it!

@Watasha hey, well it's basically me just living my day normally. I can hear my tinnitus sometimes but I don't give it so much power. Even if I have spikes, I go to the gym, meet up with friends, read, watch videos, etc. I don't let it control my life anymore and through this I have been able to just "get over it" if that makes sense?

hi @Watasha the volume is the same however I don't let it bother me. It's like I'm used the the level of loudness. It's hard to describe but it doesn't bother me. I can be in a quiet room with my tinnitus and I don't really care. Today I'm having a spike but mentally, I just think "okay sure this sucks but I don't really care that much anymore." so it just takes a backseat to my life. Hope that clarifies things!

Funny you mentioned this. My nephew was dismissive when I told him about taking precautions with his very mild tinnitus...until he had a very, very bad spike a couple of days ago. He freaked out. You can see it in his face. People don't really understand until it moderately/severely happens to them.

The other day I was thinking about how it was so loud and obnoxious but I was busy doing something important so I didn't mind it as much because I was focusing on something more important. Whereas at the start, I would've been so distraught and listening to it for hours. I think that definitely shows my progress as far as self-healing.
