Struggling with Louder Tinnitus After Fighting My Way Out of Depression

Can you explain this contradiction? Are you sure it wasn't going out and being exposed to sound that made your tinnitus worse?

    Hyperacusis Cured/Reduced by Clomipramine

I have been on Clomipramine for almost a decade now, and together with therapy, it has helped me a great deal in accepting my tinnitus. It mainly works because it keeps my OCD under control, so I cannot become preoccupied with tinnitus most of the time. In my case, Clomipramine is supported with...

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

I agree with this. CBT helped me a little, but things became sustainable when I did Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which is the latest version of CBT. It is incredibly hard to accept the noise in my ears, and sometimes I still panic, but I learned to go with the flow and accept both the...

Most people I see on Tinnitus Talk are older, so at least they have a reason to live (a wife/husband, and children). I'm 34 and have been living like an hermit since 7 years because of tinnitus :( No wife, no children, and I fear I'll never meet a wife because I have to live locked in my room...

Persistent Tinnitus at 24 Triggered by Post-Surgical Medications (Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Gabapentin, and Oxycodone)

Interesting. What I read from a Google search was that medication-induced tinnitus is usually permanent because it reduces blood flow to the inner ear and permanently kills the hair cells there. I have always had a little bit of hiss in my head, but it was only there if I wore noise-cancelling...

Has anyone had any luck with adding vitamin D3, Taurine, Lipoflavonoid, or NAC to their daily regimen? If so, how long to take effect for a positive result?

How a Furnace Gave Me Severe Tinnitus and What the Last 7 Months Have Been Like

Hey Sonia, I was just wondering which earbuds you mentioned, the ones where another cuff style pair is used so nothing goes directly into your ear canal and nothing completely covers your ear. That way there is still airflow and ambient sound getting in. I may end up buying a pair of those...
