      Hey guys!

Not really a success story, but decided to share.

It's been a 3 months journey, and T is no longer the worst thing in the world for me.

I went to a psychiatrist, and now I'm taking antidepressants and feel much better. Life is back to normal, I can do pretty much everything again and enjoy it (including work, which is something I really love).

I now sleep for over 10h if no one wakes me up. :p

Yeah, T is annoying, and some days it gets louder, and others gets quieter, but well, what can we do? I love living and won't let it interfere.

If you're having a bad time, like I did in the beginning, trust me, it gets better. It might get worse in the future, or might get even better, but who cares? Live today, do your stuff. See people you love, go outside.

I was once scared, but now I'm just dealing with it, and so you can!

One tip for beginners that I had to learn the hard way: don't search too much, you'll find many cases of suicide and things that will scary you... it did scared me at first, but each single person handle it on its own way. Don't take others thoughts as yours. Be yourself. Keep going!

Antidepressants messed up many people and made their tinnitus even worse. They can work fine for you but its russian roulette. Good luck with them - you will need it.

Well said William Oliveira. I'm on antidepressants. Had to, just could not get out of this depression when I got tinnitus. Am still on them now and I feel good. I can better handle my T now.

Amitriptyline 25 mg. it's not just for depression. It's also used for nerve Paine. It's been known to help lower tinnitus. Most doctors will put you on this drug if you have tinnitus.

To be honest, i think it´s a bit harsh to compare ADs with Russian roulette, for sure there is side effects but if you are trapped in a depression it could be very hard to get anywere on the road to habituation without any medical help.

@Richard zurowski, i started Amitriptyline 2 weeks ago 25mgs atm, no bigger difference yet. How long did it take for you to get benefit from it? What ADs did you try before Ami?

It took me five weeks to starting to feel better. As for the others.......Prozac...Citalopram . They made feel like a zombie. Some people are suited to certain antidepressants. I've found that Amitriptyline works for me.

I'm on Reconter (escitalopram), 15mg, works pretty good for me. No side effects that I can feel, my T got quieter, I can habituate better.

I think what makes T worse is how we feel about it. The stress, the depression. Once you can handle these feelings, you can just deal with T.

Well, I'm having a good experience with them, not sure how it worked for other people. We need to stick with what works for us. :)
