      Hello,

I wondered if anyone already bought those plugs:

I asked noise protection earplugs to the pharmacist and she gave me those. After buying them I had a look at the box and saw it was apparently for sleeping. Does anyone know if they are safe to use in a noisy environment? I checked online and they are rated with a noise reduction of 28dB, so I assume it should be fine but I still have a doubt.

I have a funeral to attend tomorrow and would like to make sure I have good earplugs. The last funeral I went to I used my custom molded silicon earplugs but I did not feel it protected me efficiently from the organ's noise.

The best earplugs are the ones that fit you properly. For me I have to get the hearos xtreme because I have very large ear canals and most other earplugs are too small (don't provide adequate protection). Everyone is different.

You may just have to get different types and see what works for you.

Those 3M ear plugs are ok, but if you look around there are plugs with higher NRR of 33. Also, they are not the most comfortable as they are PVC foam, and most others are polyurethane that many find to be more comfortable.

That said, any ear plug should be ok for a church organ as long as not right next to the pipes.

      Sorry for your loss.

I would try the ear plugs in advance and make sure they fully seal your ear canal. It often takes a few different brands of ear plugs to find one that you can fully insert, and that fits well for your ear canal anatomy. One size does definitely not fit all...

Thank you digital doc. I tried these Earfit ones and they seem fine. I made a test with music i played on a speaker, and they definitely block more noise than my custom silicon plugs.
