Hello everyone! I'm one month in from what I think is stress/ noise induced T. But I know many have this for different reasons, my sisters co worker said she had it for 6 months, and her reason was she put a q-tip in too far, I know that this isn't how I got mine but just to let someone else know if that is how they got theirs!! Have a great day!! :D

It's mild, can't hear it at work, only when I'm home and in silence. Around 2 am to 10 am it's Soooo quiet then after I eat or get up it gets a little higher.

Same with me. As long as I keep myself busy and active I can go a few hours without hearing or thinking about it. Mine sounds like rice being poured into an empty saucepan! :D

@Jamie m Im still not sure what caused mine yet. Doc has no idea, all though I think it was ETD... but I think stress helped it along. I have good and bad days really, I try to stay positive as best I can.
      How about yourself?

I really think in 99.9% of the cases it only gets better as time goes on. The more you ignore it the quieter it gets and now that you are over the first few dreaded months it only gets better. People can have events that will temporarily make it worst, but you brain adapts and it gets better again.

      Q-tipping

I got tinnitus 8 weeks ago from putting a Q-tip in my ear to far. I felt a little pain during the incident. My Doctor said i didn't perforate the eardrum though. Then i had microsuction done by an ENT to remove earwax and that wasn't the cause of the tinnitus so now i have to go back for a possible MRI scan because of the pulsating sensation i have every once in awhile.

@Gregory s -- Just to let you know, there are many reports on this forum of people getting tinnitus from microsuction.

Seems microsuction is a common practice with ENT’s. Thanks for the information.
