Was watching youtube and accidentally played a video with the volume at 100, it was very loud and now I am very worried I may have caused damage, my tinnitus is already loud and hard to cope with.

How many decibels do you think it could have been?

Laptop speakers at max volume? They are poor. I'm not decibel expert but less than 90 decibels.

I sure hope so amber, I had the youtube volume bar on the highest as well, it did sound really loud since the laptop was close to me, my right ear also is aching.

I have done that many times before, and always recovered in a few days. Those are tiny speakers run off low voltage like 5 Volts, not enough power to do any real damage. Believe me I know, I used to be in the business of computer repair for over 25 years. In the future it's a good idea to just turn the volume down to 0 after watching a youtube that way the next time that you listen to a youtube you will need to bring up the volume slow until it gets to a reasonable level. And then just repeat that procedure, try and get into the habit of doing it. Some youtubes are recorded louder then others, this is the best way to avoid the problem in the future.

      Good Luck

It certainly is no more than 85 dB. Laptop usually average at 70-75 db at full volume.
They sound irritating because they only reproduce high frequencies
