My tinnitus is not tinnitus after all but instead a very bad case of something called glue ear, so one day the ringing will go away once the glue ear goes away.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but tinnitus is tinnitus no matter what causes it. Hearing a sound when no external sound is present. And how can you be so sure your tinnitus goes away when the glue ear is no longer a problem?

I had glue ear for awhile. Stay hydrated and it can resolve itself.

Doctors may offer to put a grommet in your eardrum, they wanted to do that to me and I just waited instead and it went away.

I have had glue ear for 6 months in both ears. I never had tinnitus before the glue ear. I still have it and my ENT says it should go away, that was 5 months ago. I still have the popping sound in both my ears and I haven’t done grommets as I had read it causes the tinnitus to become worse. Iam not sure what to do. Has anyone had any successful experience with glue ear Tinnitus?

      Hi Annv,

My ENT says that glue ear tinnitus should disappear when there isn’t anymore glue ear. For how long it is Unknown but it’s cause is inflammation in the ear. Mine hasn’t disappeared because I still have poping glue ear. Why would you say this? Are you a ENT specialist?

      Don't give fake info

If your Glue Ear resolves, the tinnitus should go away probably in the following weeks to months.

@Bill Bauer can help shed some more info on how if the original cause resolves tinnitus fades.
