      Hi Jazzer,

Thank you so much for your greeting. Sorry I didn’t send a reply. I could not figure out how to respond to your message in my inbox.

I have read many of your posts and responses to other member’s posts, and you seem kind, thoughtful, and wise. And you love cats!

Perhaps I will tell you and others my story soon. Glad to have found this place for guidance and support. Having tinnitus can be a lonely place to be.

Dear Tracy - thank you for finding a way to come back to me.
When I tried to understand this site I found it so tricky to start with, but if you persevere you can eventually get it sorted.
      One little hint.
When you write to anybody, as you just did to me, always address them with the prefix @, because that will draw their attention to being flagged up.
(ie - @TracyJS ) otherwise they could miss your message.
Yes - I adore pussycats - and lovely people,
Out of interest, do you do any deep relaxation/meditation?
      It really helps me.
      Big big hug,
      Dave x

      @Jazzer
I find it very difficult to figure things out here. I will keep trying. Maybe you could tell me how I send you a direct message? I tried going to your profile page, but couldn’t see how to post something.

I do not practice relaxation/meditation, but think it might be a good idea to learn more and start as I suffer greatly from anxiety.

Thank you for the big hug. I need that more than you could know.

      - see.....you learnt to use the flaggup method !!
Now, I have to tell you I’m not great at navigating this site, but a couple of ideas that seem to work:

      * When you read any post, and wish to join in the discussion, do exactly as you just did.
ie - @Jazzer - flag up the name.
That will notify the receiver, and give them an opportunity to respond.

      * Also, you will almost certainly want to start a thread of your own sometime, or ask your own questions.
What I often do is to Click the tab marked Forums.
Go into General Chat, which can be anything much, which is off topic, and write some personal original stuff.
But choose a different bracket if your subject and your questions are more specific.

      * You can also go into Inbox (at top of the page) and start a personal conversation with just one, or more persons of your choice.
That is a really useful option.
I’m hoping that some kind soul, more conversant than me may be able to help you more.
@Starthrower has got it all sorted....maybe she can help you more.

Perhaps when I have some more time tomorrow, I’ll give you my own very simple meditation technique. It really does help me, and confirms that I do have the ability to relax, despite “T.”
(I refuse to honour it with its full name.)

      Very Best Wishes Tracy,
and as you liked the last hug,
here’s another one, coming up ....weeeeeey,
      Dave x

Good stuff FD - lovely doggy picture.
Is he yours, by the way?
I love the pussycat- of course.
I would never have thought of taking the reflected sky, but it works really well.
As for the damaged car - I like it - very Jack Kerouac!!

thank you very much for the appreciation! coming from you is great! :) the picture of the sky looks better because it is edited, like the one of the car (great reference by the way hehe. I hadt thought of it) and a little bit the one of the cat. the dog is not mine, I was in El Tigre (an island area here in Buenos Aires where I went on vacation this summer) and the dog was out there following me and my girlfriend :puppykisses:

      @TracyJS

Tracy I’ve done meditation, or deep relaxation for a long time, so it comes quite naturally to me.
Being retired, I do it each morning after getting up, when I go straight into a warm bath.
But you can also do it quite easily in an arm chair.

      Eyes closed.
Don’t let the fact that you can still hear “T” worry you. Meditation will still happen.
A deep breath in, then a long slow breath out.
      • Ask your tummy to take over your breathing for you.
      • Do not consciously breath from this point on.
Allow the reflexes deep in your tummy to instigate the next in-breath.
Similarly allow your reflexes in your chest to instigate the next out-breath.
With a bit of practice, you should soon observe a lovely breathing gap at the bottom of the cycle, when you will know that you’ve got it right.
Just become an observer to your breathing.
      • If you want to go deeper - just think the word ‘deeper’......’deeper’.....’deeper’......with each out breath.)
      Continue for perhaps 15/20 minutes.
Count down from 10 to zero to finish.

      I always relax very deeply.
On a good session I can be completely unaware of my “T.”
But persevere, and make it a daily practice if you can find the time.
      Don’t expect miracles too soon.
You are proving to yourself that you can hear your “T” and still maintain relaxation.

My twin brother Michael R Hewett is a professional Grand Prix photographer since 1959.
      Google him and his book
      “The Monaco Grand Prix”
      published by Haynes.

Of course he agrees with you, but he’s still amazed at what an iPhone can do.
