Tonal Audiometry is safe but it's not scientifically accurate at all.

Recent research indicates that hearing test used at most audiology clinics and ENTs are inaccurate, they only test for hearing loss within the human voice range, learn more here about hidden hearing loss such as trouble hearing in background noise and music (which is not tested by standard)

They are all physically safe but they don't accurately measure hearing loss. Audiologists don't keep up to date with research, and it's so bad and controversial that laymen on a tinnitus forum such as myself and friends appreciate research more than people who are paid to deal with hearing problems.
