Is it normal to get different tinnitus tones?

I think so. I think odd things happening is normal for tinnitus.

But that said, I've been wondering about that as well. The past week my usual sound has occasionally changed for a few seconds to a strange, even higher pitch beeping noise. There's always three beeps, then my tinnitus starts off quietly before returning to its normal volume.

The whole thing probably takes 10 seconds, but it's strange enough that it always makes me pause whatever I'm doing.

Sorry, I cannot remember, was your tinnitus from a virus? Or sudden hearing loss?

It can be. Before mine was mild never changing. Since the end of March it's ever changing. I get new tones/noises and volume so on all the time. Some stay and some go. Beeps, hissing, bells, gongs, and so on.

Is it normal for new tones to come and go sometimes? Does this happen to anyone else?
