Can you guys hear the tone of tinnitus when you put your fingers inside your ear with the tinnitus? Can you move your finger around and hear it change the sound so it's like tones in there?
When I yawn I hear it do a tone thing. It's horrible :-( not sure how I ended up with t but I'm wondering if it will ever go away and I've been so depressed because of it.
Mine keeps changing from tones to fax machine noises. I just wondered if anyone else had the same.

When the tone of the T changes, it means you have a Somatic Tinnitus, and it is very common among us. Mine is somatic too, it changes its loudness; however, it does not change if I move my fingers inside my ear.

About your question if it will go away, no one can reply. But I can assure sooner or later you will habituate to its presence ( or it will fade away, who knows? ;) )

I can hear it without plugging the fingers in!
But I got somatic T too, when I yawn the T goes on a rampage. My T does not change if I plug them with my hand or inside the ear.

I found a good masseuse who has done a lot of work on my neck, shoulders, and upper back, as well as TMJ work. The somatic element of tinnitus has decreased a lot as a result.

I've had similar experience with the electric fax machine noises and tones going back n forth. unpredictable beast.

I feel like mine is quieter when my ears are plugged . I only hear my T and it doesn't give me another sound to compare it to . example of this is I have the tv on amd my T is always louder than the tv, when i plug my ears it's just the T and it sounds quieter. as I have nothing for it to scream above . when i lay in bed and I i plug my ears and yawn I hear a very weird horror movie type sound in my right ear for the durration of the yawn .tgis is new as of last week. going on 4 months for me now with T .

I can vibrate the sound when I plug my finger in. As there is a real sound coming out. When I yawn depending on where the sound is at, the air will also vibrate the heartbeat ring. Kind of like the sound is caught by the air of the yawn if that makes sense. Is that what you mean?

The massage thing sounds like a good idea. I think I may try that. Not expecting any miracles but I would think it has to be helpful.

In my left ear I can alter the tone when I put my finger around my ear hole. Doesn't work on the right ears drone. I can hear T louder when I plug my ears. Doesn't everyone?
