      Cause of Tinnitus:
      acoustic trauma
Hi -I'm so glad to find this forum. I developed C.H. after an acoustic trauma. The ENT I was sent to kept insisting that loud noise is not a possible cause, so I am so glad to see that it CAN be. I was testing a new iPod dock and had an earbud in one ear. I'd been unable to get any sound on the dock, when suddenly a "gunshot" of volume struck my eardrum. W/n 36 hours, my ear starting feeling pop-py like I had water in it - I took 3 rounds of prednisone before Dr. Inept sent me to an out of state specialist who diagnosed C.H.

Fast forward to two nights ago - I had let the fluid in my ear build up and was having difficulty hearing. I was putting off taking a round of prednisone. Sitting quietly at the table, I suddenly experienced horrendous dizziness and nausea like I have never experienced. I was violently ill for several hours. Evidently, I had let the pressure in my ear build up to a level that caused some vestibular malfunction.

The next morning, I began Prednisone and Daily fluid pills.

Has anyone else had this experience of extreme dizziness and vomiting? Was it isolated? I am so thankful this occurred at home and not at work or driving, as it was almost totally debilitating.

      Thank you!
