      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Tensor tympani myoclonus
      Hello,
Two months ago, I noticed a strange noise in my right ear. I was in my room with my baby nephew and when he started clapping his hands, I heard a crackling/popping noise coming from my ear.

A few days passed and I noticed it more especially in the kitchen when washing the dishes.

The sound of dishes hitting together triggered the cracklin sound in my ear.

I saw an ENT a week later and said I may have a problem with my Eustachian tubes and advised to take a decongestant. Took Claritin-D for exactly 2 weeks and no relief.

She then referred my to see another specialist and he said I possibly may have tensor tympani myoclonus. Recommendations were to take magnesium and B-2 supplement daily and to go on a migraine diet. Since I also suffer from migraines he thinks this could be related.

This diagnosis has made me very anxious and I'm nervous that it may get worse overtime. Has anyone experienced this type of issue??
