I've been popping my ears for months and my tinnitus has gotten worse, is the popping good or bad?

You might be wearing out your jaw, thus worsening your tinnitus. If you need to pop your ears because there's a legitimate pressure differential, try swallowing or another technique to change things up.

I have to conciously tell myself not to pop my ears. Even though sometimes it feels like I need to.
(I control these muscles in my throat that I can use to pop my ears). It's not a necessity anymore compared when the pressure differences were very substantial and I had to keep popping them to try to equalize them both.

I'm afraid i'm going to get floppy ear drums or something if I don't stop.

I don't know. I pop my ears the same way if I perceive negative pressure or if I am about to swallow. That's because if I swallow with my ears like that, there will be a loud 'plonk' sound in one or both ears, and a dramatic change in pressure in my inner ears.
Both swallowing and intentional popping do seem to cause middle or inner ear complaints for me. I would try to avoid popping your ears intentionally under most circumstances, except when it's necessary (on a plane, altitude change, diving).

I never pop too. Apparently I have some ETD and an ENT told me to pop my ears 10 times everyday. He did not listen at all when I was telling him about my problems and that I'd make everything worse. (From past experiences). He insisted, so silly me listened to this douchebag. I tried to pop my ears and it muffled the hearing in my right ear for an entire week! I am never ever going to pop my ears on purpose again. Yawning, chewing gum and swallowing works for me.
