Yes mine is severe no question.
      Loud and ever present.
I am so pleased if some suggestions from me have helped others - that gives me a lovely warm feeling.

I honestly don’t think I would have made it through without my meditation.
By hearing (not listening) tinnitus and then drifting off into a meditational slumber, I have become much more desensitised.
I avoid use of the contentious word ‘habituation’
(....oh SHIT....I just said it....!!) because the MPP posse will come after me and cut my nuts off!
(I’ve grown rather attached to them over the years.)
Perhaps the word ‘acclimatised’ will help me avoid a sticky end.
(I mean - who wants a sticky end misus?!)

I have a theory that there is actually a resistance to acceptance.
A resistance to healing - in effect.
Tinnitus is so horrible that the very idea of acceptance is understandably repugnant.
      I mean “accept Tinnitus - WHAT !
      - fuck that !!”
      ( Oh sorry vicar.)
We don’t want to accept it!
      Accept it - NEVER!

But you see - it is there - like it or not.
We just have to get used to it - that’s all.
      We have no choice.
That is exactly the point where meditation can come to the rescue.
Bit like General Custard - and the Sixth Cavalry.
The fact of the matter is,
      I am honestly doing better!
      There - I’ve said it.
No - this is not just a flash/flush in the pan.
(By the way - I’ve got my fingers crossed.
      Makes typing very difficult.)
      Doing better folks.

      Love to everybody
      (feeling expansive now)

      Serious announcement.
I’ve finally discovered what’s wrong with my brain.
      Both hemispheres are affected.
In my right hemisphere there’s nothing right,
and in my left hemisphere there’s nothing left.
Half of my brain has gone missing, and the other half has gone looking for it!
I considered going to see a psychiatrist, but can’t help feeling that anyone who goes to a psychiatrist needs their head examined!

Well I’ve had this thing since the initial trauma August 2014.
      So nearly five years.
The noise has not lessened at all.
But I have to tell you there are now plenty of times when I am unaware of it,
so taking no notice of it,
and plenty of times when I am aware of it but just can’t be bothered to care about it.

I honestly believe that doing my deep relaxation and meditation over the period has made a huge difference. It has paid off for me.

To be very honest - I cannot be bothered with ‘horizon watching,’ - reading research articles in desperation for a cure.
Though of course, I totally understand why people do.
If one genuinely comes, we will all know about it soon enough.
Personally, I’m not going to hold my breath.

People sometimes try meditation, find it doesn’t work, achieves nothing but frustrate them, and so they give up.
      You just have to persevere.
I have not ruled out that I may well dip again.
But if so, I will know what to do about it.

      ‘More of the same remedy.’
