      Hi folks,

I have been prescribed a Steroid Nasal Spray for Sinus > Tinnitus problems. I dont want to use the spray because I have heard steroid sprays can cause rebound reactions, and that you become addicted to them for clear passages.

The doctor said it maybe a Eustachian tube problem, which the spray may help.

The one is called Beclometasone Dipropionate.

Anyone have suggestions other than steroid sprays?

I sometimes use a Saline nose spray.

      Thanks.

It's not that addictive. You can safely use it for a couple of days.

I've used steroidal sprays from time to time because of my ETD, quitting has never been a problem.

Try Flonase, no steroids and it does the job for me.

As far as I can tell Flonase is a type of Steroid?

      https://www.drugs.com/flonase.html

      Kind regards.

I have used Flonase off and on for the past month. No impact on my tinnitus. Maybe it’s a pinch quieter. Maybe, it’s difficult to tell. But I can tell that it’s not louder and I can breath better.

      It is a steroid.

I think most people do not realize it’s a steroid, likely because it’s sold without a prescription. I just purchased Flonase for myself and my daughter, and the patient leaflet for the children’s version goes into more detail about its steroid side effects.

That's exactly what I did, purchased it OTC thinking safe no steroid. I wish I could delete that post where I said it wasn't. Meanwhile, it did clear my sinuses but did nothing for my tinnitus.

You honestly did not know and I think it’s kind of a little known thing, and versus oral steroids it is a much smaller amount. It’s also absorbed differently by the body.

It’s helping with my sinuses, too, and it’s nice to know other members were okay taking it.

Do you know how Nassonex compares to Flonase? Just wondering if one has any advantage over the other.

The biggest difference might be price, since the effectiveness is virtually the same. Never used Flonase though.
