      Infection
Contracted a middle ear infection in July, took short course of antibiotics, then developed effusion.

The fluid has not totally drained and infection came back. I was prescribed Amoxil 875 2x day, it helped a little.

But noticed loud noises exasperate the pain!? Causes a fire like pain but it then gradually subsides...

I'm on day 6 of a 10 day course and still have fluid draining from ears, considering getting tubes.

Anyone know what's going on? Why loud noises is causing pain? Thanks!

Well, your middle ear is not in great shape right now, so it's not surprising you'd feel unusual sensations from your ear, including sensitivity to noise (hyperacusis). That is not uncommon. Hopefully it subsides when your infection clears.

When you say you have fluid draining from your ears, what do you mean? Where do you see the fluid draining?

The fluid in my middle ear is being drain out into my outer ear canal.

So you have a perforated ear drum then, correct? (it's the only explanation for fluid passing from the middle ear to the outer canal)

That should be visible through otoscopic examination by your doctor.
