      I've had this happening for the last 3 months or so. I will wake up in the middle of the night with environmental noises fluctuating in loudness to the point where my tiny fan will start sounding like a jet engine or a T-rex, but only for a second or less until it goes back to normal. The loudness waxes and wanes exactly in sync with my arteries pumping blood in my head.
      My tinnitus, which is usually just continuous, will start behaving in a similar manner too.

      Any thoughts on this? I have experienced pulsatile tinnitus on some occasions before, but I am still pretty new to it and what causes it.

      @Michael Leigh

      I do use a fan at night. Averaging 40 db while I sleep every night.
