So I signed up for a specific exercise program. I can't get out of it without forgoing $500. It's a group class but the instructor BLASTS the music. I've asked if they would lower it and explained my condition and they look at me as if I am nuts. They do lower it a teeny bit but then forget and blast it again.

The other issue is that you have to go to this class 1x per day and there are 8 classes a day with several instructors. You get to choose the class and it can be different every day... I really don't want to be THAT person you know?

I wore those orange foam ear plugs today and in the past I bought more expensive ones but they are always too small for me.

Any recommendations for good ear plugs?

Custom, specifically built according to the shape of your ear canal!

Cost is a lot, $150 and upwards!

      Worth it!

Is there anything I can get in the mean time?

Foams inside ears and ear muffs on top.

      Professionals call it "double protection"

You can't get damage that way. You will look silly but why would you care about looks.

I suggested double protection because I know you are OCD anxiety nut case, no offense meant but honestly speaking the orange ones are more than enough on their own. The music can't be louder than 110 decibels and the foams will lower it to a non damaging level.

If the orange foam ones are a decibel reducer of 30 and the music blasting was 100 that means 70 ins't that bad right?

      Hey @Marie79

I can understand your frustration. A lot of people don't understand the gravity of T. I went to Walgreens, and luckily they had about 5-7 different types of ear plugs available. I opted to get the Hearos brand (foam). It's interesting since they have 2-3 different models, with one for standard protection and one with ultra protection. I know they do decrease the decibel intensity, but personally, I prefer my normal decibel range to be 50 dcbs or lower. Any brand should help you; but I did buy one that came with a small carrying case, which I thought was portable and small enough to bring with me at all times.

Another model I've seen on amazon.com which I'm thinking of purchasing is this:

      https://www.amazon.com/LiveMus-Hear...id=1473734639&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=ear+plugs

      Or this:

      https://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Res...UTF8&qid=1473734639&sr=1-6&keywords=ear+plugs

They're both relatively cheap and highly reviewed.

Hope you have fun in your exercise class!

Hearos xtreme if other earplugs are too small for you.
Too small means you are not getting anywhere near the db reduction.

In real life, you can't make such maths. The 30dB reduction is there only if you put them perfectly, which is never the case. And the reduction is not the same on every frequency, 30dB is a maximum on a few high frequencies.

Why does everything seem to be so complicated in life about you.
Get a refund (for the obvious reasons, ear damaging music, douche instructor) and go to another class.
      There, problem solved.
Also 500$? What, you get a 4k flat screen when the course ends?
