      Hi all

What are your favourite dog breeds?

      My top 5 would be:

      1) German Shepherd (I own a 2-year-old called Odin)
      2) Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen
      3) Scottish Terrier / Wire Fox Terrier
      4) Giant Schnauzer
      5) Welsh Springer Spaniel

What are your favourite top 5 breeds?

Can't believe I just saw a Giant Schnauzer on Corrie after writing them above, my sister tweeted Corrie asking if we can have more episodes of the Schnauzer and they said your wish is our command, yay more Giant Schnauzer air time!!!

Aww GSD in the background, they're the best and if I were a dog I'd be a GSD.

I love all dogs, we had Great Danes and Cavalier King Charles growing up, they were absolutely beautiful breeds.
I have a Husky called Zeus funnily enough, he’s an absolute brat, he’s really not the smartest dog which for a Husky is unusual but wouldn’t have him any other way.

      Setters!

We've always had them, we've got a Gordon Setter now, Gracie, who's soon to be 10!

There was another Gordon before her, Brucie.

And them prior to our Gordons, it's been Irish Setters - had 4 of them at one point :)

German Shepherds top my list, Sarah. After this I have to say I adore the mixed breeds, aka "mutts." We once had a cockapoo, he was adorable, soft and even tempered.

I've had pitbull mixes for years.... Sweet, energetic, awesome dogs. Great for T sufferers because they don't bark much, mine only barks at cats and coyotes. I'm partial to Shepards and retrievers as well, never owned one though. 20180310_204400.jpg

@emmalee your GSD looks identical to my Duke, I miss him so much.

I have only just looked at these replies as I'd forgotten about my own thread .

@AZeurotuner, Harvey (my Bernese mountain dog) only barks when someone knocks on the door or when he's playing with other dogs otherwise he's so quiet, which as a breed Bernese are quiet dogs, and part the reason I picked the breed as my next dog. The only thing I disliked about Duke is as a typical Shep he was vocal not excessive but he would bark at every sight of sound, but even though my tinnitus did not like his barking, Harvey was hilarious though in those moments, once Duke was barking at the back door and went back and forth from the back door to the dining room (shock looks out onto the garden) me and Harvey went to see what was going on, Harvey jumped up on the windowsill, looked out the window, looked at Duke and his expression was priceless, he looked at Duke as if to say "Bro it's a cat, what's the big deal" then just plodded off back to his spot on the sofa.

I calmed Duke, told him it's ok, the cat won't hurt us. But I knew he's just letting me know it's part of the Shep's protective nature.

Harvey only warns me if he feels it's a threat, he doesn't bark at every little thing which is better for my tinnitus :puppykisses:. Once I got tinnitus I knew I could never own another Shep so for me I'm sticking with BMD's. My Avatar is a Bernie. :)

Also Harvey's bark is a lot deeper, it's not as high pitched as Duke's was. A deeper bark is easier on the ear.

      Yorkie :).

My puppy is 3 months old and if all Yorkies are like her then I am sold for life. She's so silly and cute, I think my second dog will be another yorkie :)

I tried to breed a Golden Retriever with a Rottweiler.
I ended up with a litter of rotten retrievers.

But seriously, I love the goldens.

This guy! Lab pit mix? Sweet. Wouldn’t bark if you paid him.
