I have had tinnitus since I was 14, and I am 33 now. Please do not let that frighten anyone. The key to this whole thing is to distract your mind from the noise. I know that is easier said than done. It is so loud and obnoxious, almost like you are stuck in a room with a crying baby.

It gets better. It always does. Your brain will not let you suffer forever. Our bodies try to protect us. Just like when people live next to a train track or in a very loud city, we learn to tune it out.

I am posting again because I am having another tinnitus spike, and yes, it is rough. I went to a loud party without earplugs, and now I am dealing with the consequences. Inflammation often comes along with tinnitus, as does hearing loss. I recommend trying allergy medications or antihistamines. They helped me in the short term, although the relief did not last. Even so, it was something.

This has been part of my life for a very long time. There is hope. I have gone years without even noticing it. Yes, there are small flare-ups that pass quickly, but we do not pay attention to them.

Love you all. I will keep everyone updated about this new flare-up. I am getting older, so it is time to grease the joints.
