      Cold?
Doctor said it should go (this was about a month ago) but it hasn't yet. It has changed in pitch/consistency after I started taking sudafed (have stopped because of the change, currently taking zyrtec-d).
It used to be soft/gone in the morning, but lately it's actually worse then or after a nap.

I have all but lost hope at this point. So sad....

      Hi Sorien,

Mine started with an ear/sinus infection. I'm 3 weeks in and the Doctor says the same thing. I noticed my mind goes from: "I hope it settles in a few days." to "I hope it will settle in a few weeks". And now it's "I hope in a couple of months it will go away."

As each day passes my hope disappears too, though from some of the things I've read there's still a chance it can improve in a few months..

It's a frustrating, debilitating waiting game.

Try stay positive as time is a great healer and it's still fairly early days for you both.
Keep masking with sound and sound lower than your tinnitus sound through the night . ..lots of love glynis

I know ,it's the virus that does the damage and ear infection etc.
A mucous linctus can help clear your tubes and a spray for sinus problems.
I take sudafed now with any cold and make sure you have a yearly flu jab...lots of love glynis

That's what I have been doing, to no cure. I'm not evn sure I can properly msk to habituate because it's usually small enough that i would have to strain to hear thr other sound

You might get your tinnitus to go or just reduce it and you learn to adapt and get spikes on and off.
As long as your ears are clear of wax and infection and mucous and eardrum ok and MRI and hearing ok we can only wait and see and protect our ears.
For some people antidepressants like Amitryptaline and Nortryptaline can help reduce tinnitus....lots of love glynis

      Medications
Drugs can't cure tinnitus, but in some cases they may help reduce the severity of symptoms or complications. Possible medications include:

      • Tricyclic antidepressants, such as amitriptyline and nortriptyline, have been used with some success. However, these medications are generally used for only severe tinnitus, as they can cause troublesome side effects, including dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation and heart problems.
