I've had tinnitus for about 2 months and man is it blaring. Constantly. Scary. I'm still trying to get to the bottom of it. I'm moving towards an Audiology appointment. Why did it come on so quickly? Why is it so loud?

Have you regularly exposed yourself to loud noise at work or recreational, took certain medications, noticed your hearing is muffled or have known hearing loss?

Do you have TMD, jaw crackling or noises when you open your mouth or yawn?

Do you notice any cervical issues (upper spinal/neck pain?

These are all things you need to look out for when you have tinnitus to help you find the cause.

Welcome. You will hopefully find answers to those questions as you go down the diagnosis path with your doctors.

      Hello @Fred123@ ,

I'm not sure why you developed tinnitus, but going to an audiologist or ENT can potentially help you figure it out.

There are many causes of tinnitus and it would be hard to pin point what exactly it is without knowing your whole background. I suggest before going to the appointment researching what can cause tinnitus and bring any potentials up to the doctor.

Seeing that your tinnitus is very recent there is a high chance it will reduce if not fade completely.

Your ability to deal with tinnitus will get better over time @Fred123@ . For now be optimistic since your tinnitus is so new and there is a lot of testing to still be done with your doctors. Whatever the outcome is things will get better I promise.

You also now have a place to discuss and talk about tinnitus if you choose too. There are a lot of nice people around here.
