      Hi
My tinnitus has recently got dramatically worse, although I have had it mild to moderate for a long time.
It's getting to the point where I am getting a bit desperate for relief and am very worried it will continue to get worse.
I play in a covers band and now use earplugs, but am considering investing in in-ear monitors to control the volume and quality better.
Hoping TT can provide some support.
      Thanks
      Harold

I'm no expert, maybe I'm just paranoid. But I would be staying away from intrument as that's how I got my T.

Hi Glynis, have you had wax buildup with t before?

Apparently I have pretty decent build up, have you had removals with t? If so, how did that work out for you?

Did you notice and reduce in volume or anything?

I'm too scared to get syringe as I've had it before I had T and it's pretty rough, but I am going to the ENT for my consultation tomorrow and some cleaning, micro suction or even manual removal I hope.

Best use olive oil drops in your ear to soften the wax first prior to removal.
My tinnitus is through having Menieres Disease so wax removal for me is just to clean them as wear hearing aids...lots of love glynis

Oh okay, I have used some "waxsol" for 2 treatments, I hope it's enough, time will tell.

The second time I used it just after my onset it kinda hurt, not sure if it was because the solution was cold or my ear was inflammed. I don't know. But I stopped using it.

I did the same within the first few weeks of t. Waxsol seemed to make it sting around the ear drum. When I finally saw the doc again for syringing he said it looked a little red. Sadly it didn't end my t like he suggested and a week later with no change he confirmed loud noise t damage and gave me an ent referral.

Yeah, I've read a lot of users using olive oil?
Here's to hoping the ENT can manually take it out.

He's a private guy as I couldn't get the public one until August. And their advertising has mention of T so I hope they are more educated, initially my gp didn't seem to know or say too much, I basically had to tell her that I wanted an ent referral and so on.

Yes I've tried olive oil too but didn't have anywhere near the same wetting of the ear wax result. Yes ent should be able to use tools only to get out your wax. They may also try and convince you to suction the wax too. Up to you if you accept.

The ENTs I've seen have known very little nor give a damn.

Keep the public appointment too. Don't cancel. You may need it and it's better to be in the queue.

That is true, it seems like some people really have no idea. How about we play them the sound we deal with ;) I bet they complain in the first 5 minutes.

I don't think I went through with making a public one.
