      Possibly allergies
Started exactly a week ago, think it's related to my allergies

Used to have a low hum now it's more of a moderate ring/squeal

I'm adapting as best I can and most of the time I'm no longer aware of it

But at night it's louder and more noticeable, and I've gotten little sleep over the last week

Thankfully I've found the white noise from a sound generator helps me a lot, doesn't completely mask. Helped when I woke up last night, going to try it the whole night tonight

Got an appointment with my doctor (which I may move up) and with a counselor I've seen in the past

Trying my best to stay relaxed but not always successful. Sometimes have significant anxiety

Sorry for the long post :)

      Hello everyone

You've joined a great forum. There are so many supportive and positive people here willing to share their experience, knowledge, and time. Stick with the positive threads and stories if you can -- the 'Success Stories' thread is inspirational. I have found several YouTube videos that help with sound enrichment during the day (waterfall, thunderstorm, etc., but what works for you might be entirely different). Hoping you have a better night of sleep, tonight.

      Hi Tom.
      Been there many nights.
      My relief was using Melatonin.
It's a natural supplement that relaxs you enough to drift off to sleep.
It does work for me in the 10 mg. Dose.
It is not addictive and is sold at most drug stores.
This is the best non prescription sleep medicine there is.
Also give yourself 2 hours of relaxing time before bed. Off the computer and phone by 10 oclock .
Maybe talk to your GP or pharmacist.
      Peace and courage to you.

      Welcome to the forum.

My suggestion would be to see an ENT and audiologist if you haven’t yet. It’s good to do it early on.
