I was wondering if anybody knows how many decibels an industrial paper shredder is. There are companies that drive giant trucks that have shredders in them and I didn't have my phone to check how loud it was. And I was only close to it for a minute, but I forgot my ear plugs today. I don't think this would cause a spike.

The guy working it had ear muffs on so I'm going to assume it was in the 90 -100 dB range as I doubt it would be as loud as a jackhammer or rock concert.

I couldn't really find any info online though.

Sounds like it was pretty loud.

I just have those small paper shredders at the house. My strip cut shredder is in the low 80's, but my microcut one clocks in at the low 90's. I had them both for years, and never really thought about using either one before the T. Now, I have a set of ear muffs beside them to throw on when I shred. Thankfully, it is a short exposure.

If it was only a short time, you should be ok from hat you experienced.
