If Your Tinnitus Was Cured, What Would Be the First Thing You Do Afterwards?

If a pill or a treatment could cure your tinnitus, what would be the first thing you do after that?

 

I would be so happy, I wouldn‘t be able to know what I‘d do.

 

Sigh with relief.

 

go hike in the quiet forest and plop down next to a creek and stack some rocks.

 

Finally get a good night of sleep without waking up to tinnitus?

i'd be relieved that the tinnitus was gone but I'd still be stuck with ear fatigue (a very mild form of hyperacusis) and muffling in my right ear that concerns me a lot more then my tinnitus does.

I am one of the few people on this forum that is more concerned with hearing problems then tinnitus

 

it would be nice to lay me ear against a pillow and not have zapping in my head or a constant mechanic crap noise

 

the treatments in trials right now are primarily going to treat hearing loss, with tinnitus being a secondary issue, so you're in luck.

 

I would be less stressed out for sure not hearing the constant whistle of the kettle - peace at last!

 

I would probably die of a heart attack (happiness). Imagine this shit going away woww..

its in clinical trials right now. so sooner than later, if it works. and it has already been shown to work in living mice. and It has passed the phase on safety study. I also believe I read somewhere that they got it to work in a donated human cochlea. It looks like all signs point to success.

 

Sit in silence and enjoy the silence for as long as I possibly could without getting bored.

If my tinnitus was cured, the first thing I would do is Thank God! The next thing I would do is stay in a quiet room, and enjoy the pure silence, ahhh how great just listening to nothing would be.

I would had never took my days of silence for granted! The things we take for granted today could be gone tomorrow.

 

I wonder why they can't do both phases at once? Test for safety and efficacy. If I recall correctly, the safety phase of this study was done on people with hearing loss. I wonder what effect it had on them?

 

Oh you better believe they have private data on its efficacy. They just aren't releasing it to us. I believe 95% that if it works they know it right now.

 

John just because it will fix hearing loss does not mean it will cure tinnitus. This is yet to be shown.

I would first sleep probably for like fifteen hours straight cause I haven't slept normally since I got T and I am always crazy exhausted.

Then I would lie in a room enjoying the silence for hours and hours and hours

Then I start listening to music again - sans head screeching!! - to start working on trying to train my brain to hear music better despite my hearing loss ;'(

I would also resume my other hobby: woodworking. And build myself a dinner table and cabinet. =]

 

Just take another pill!
