I lost all hearing in my left ear in 2013. I still have normal hearing in right ear. I have not had one waking second of silence in my deaf ear since 2013 and I always feel sensations of heat, inflammation, movement, fullness, etc. Every sound I hear in my good ear is accompanied by noise in my bad ear on top of the chronic tinnitus. That's my story. Just thought it might help to talk with people who can understand.

I am 55 years old. Doctors have no explanation as to why I lost my hearing. They said it was probably a virus.

Did the doc give you anti viral for virus or steroid for for sudden hearing lost? Are you a vet? Any loud noise exposure leading up to hearing loss?

The first doctor I went to misdiagnosed and mistreated as conductive loss for a month. When I finally went to ENT, steroids were given but it was too late.
