For about 3-4 weeks I have had an intermittent rhythmic hum sound in my right ear. It's definately more a hum than a whoosh.

It is worst towards the end of the day. It will disappear when I push on my neck. It also varies with head positions and in certain positions (often when standing) it completely disappears. It often occurs when I bend over.

Sometimes it is not there at all.

Other times I'll hear a few pulses that's it. Other times I hear a series of the pulsing hum sounds until I change position. The sound is very low but still irritating.

I'm having a hearing test tomorrow as I have a slight hearing loss in my right ear but haven't re tested for years!

      Any advice is appreciated.

Do you or did you experience a hum like this also? I have developed a new tone that closely fits the description in the original post.

The hum may be your ear picking up blood flow through your blood vessels.

I had that for a while some years ago.

Recently due to the vaccine I’ve acquired a rhythmic hum which is definitely pulsatile tinnitus. I can hear my heartbeats in my left ear too. Very difficult to live with.

I hope your hum disappears as mine did years ago.
