Just wondering have you ever had an spike from using the blender or accidentally being in the kitchen when someones star using it?

i was in the kitchen playing with my nephew and my sister started the blender
it was so loud, havent been expose to something that loud since onset 8 months ago.

of course i cover my ears and got away from there as soon as i could.

but i wasnt that far from the blender, my sister had to turn it off, and was like "ooops, i forgot"

      :(

i really hope i dont get a spike from this, since my tinnitus has been the best and super quiet this past 3 weeks.
anyone has had a similar experience?

Well, you did all you could in the event of an accident. The fact that your T did not spike immediately means that it likely won't later on, or at least that it would be so severe. Get yourself calm and blow off something you could not prevent; anxiety could trigger a spike on its own.

I would be wary of the kitchen space, however, if I had major ear issues in the past; they are dangerously loud at peak activity. Never asked you this before but do you wear ear protection to your job? It's probably something to consider if you do not.

      i think it did spiked,
i woke up this morning in "silence"
and now i hear this hissing, so after 3 weeks of silence its got a bit louder from a 0 to a 3.
i know its "nothing compare to other users, and i have had it loud in the past, but i was getting used to my almost non existent tinnitus"

my sister doesnt know how good i was feeling haha :/
i dont wear protection at my job, cause i mostly work in my room and its very quiet.
sometimes i need to go to restaurants to take photos or other places and i always carry my earplugs with me.

my only incidents have been when my dad or sister blend stuff on the kitchen or someone drops something or kids screams very loud.

funny how the ones that you love the most are the ones that harm you the most, haha of course i know its not their fault.

Your sister can cook?? Is she single?? lol Kidding. You are always going to have loud things happen around you when you least expect them. Even standing on a sidewalk and a firetruck roars around the corner. These things are going to happen. Don't panic and worry!

... mario, give youre ears a long rest, buy some protection and use it while feeling "in danger zone " this means near baby's cry, power tools etc. the inner ear is very slowly to settledown so use this habbit to protect for ayear or more just use it while on danger zone...

      Like everyone wrote this happens.....

I remember many years ago just walking through a parking lot was painful. Beeping cars. Horns sounding as you walk by a car when someone locked the car. I felt like the parking lot was a mine field.

Now it isn't as bad for me. I do use ear plugs. And a few times simply forgot and exposed myself to really loud noises. Just happened last weekend. Took a few days for things to calm down.

      @Mario martz

That volume doesn't sound as bad as a good spike, but I guess the blender might have provoked a little something in your ear. Not that it cannot heal quickly, and I'm glad it hasn't developed into the nazgul screaming. Maybe take some magnesium and n acetyl cysteine tonight and see if it helps settle things down.
The volume you were exposed to could not have done permanent damage if it were a few seconds; blenders just aren't loud enough I would not think. It only hurts people like me who have migraine attacks from sudden loud noise, which is not your case. I think you will wake up the next morning or in a few days with everything back to normal. Hopefully this weekend you can spend some quality quiet time to yourself to let your body repair.

I hope things soon settle back down!

I'm also glad your job is quiet to give you peace of mind as well.

Since that blender incident in the kitchen...
ive been experiencing a new tone that comes and goes.
its not high pitched but not a low hum neither.
it usually starts and immediately i notice it.
and after more or less 10 minutes it goes away...
im hoping this is just random and not permanent...
      has anyone have had this?

I've had tones come and go. If they aren't that loud it's best to just try to ignore them and forget about them. I had one tone that I could hear in quiet places that lasted about a month before going away completely. For me it's only this ultra high pitched head hissing that never goes that drives me insane. The other occasional tones I couldn't care less about.

No insult pal, but you are best proof of that it doesn't matter so much how your attitude and focus on tinnitus is.

I mean if tinnitus would really increase much by focussing on it, you would have it very severe. ;)

But your anxiety it effects much of course.
