I'm really freaking out. Ever since last Friday. Everytime I hear a noise. My ear spasms. It feels like a flutter or someone beating on my eardrum. I had this before. But, it only occurred a few times a week with very select sounds. Now it is happening 24/7 with any sound. Even a door closing or someone turning on a light switch will make my ear go crazy.

Only relief at the moment is putting a cotton wool ball in my ear. But, that surely can not be a long term solution. What do I do? I am losing my mind here. I can not even talk without it happening :(

Hey sorry I can't be of much help but sounds like possibly Tonic Tensor Tympani Syndrome? I've had the same exact thing before, hopefully it'll settle down soon. Try to keep as relaxed as you can (way easier said than done I know). Wish you all the best. :)

Probably earwax. Try and gently use a paper clip.
      It helped me massively.

This exact symptom just started up for me after having tinnitus and clicking sounds for over 7 years.

Now when I hear sounds or after I speak, I hear a spasm.

Did this ever subside for you?
