      What would they say? "A treatment has just become available to the public but we don't know if it works yet and don't have any participants to interview..."

      I think if it shows benefits on the open market, we should definitely push for news outlets to do a story on them.

      More than likely because their public relations is lacking, which we have witnessed here. It will probably help when it is released in a larger market like the rest of Europe or the US. More people will probably latch onto it once trials data has been released from peer review as well.

      You also have the habituation pushers and other companies wanting to sell you hearing aids trying to brush this technology under the rug. Maybe someday the US Dept. of Defense will start using this instead of wasting money on Desyncra!

      The Daily Mail did cover it in 2015 when it was called MuteButton and Daily Mail covers tinnitus a lot.

      Surprised Neuromod's media relations are so poor, are they shying away from attention? Maybe they don’t have the resources to deal with a big influx?

      It's just how it goes with startups. Once the revenue starts flowing and successful results are coming in they won't need a lot of advertising and they will have the finances to hire more staff. I think people forget that Neuromod is a small company.

      Don’t worry, when it does, the ATA will take all the credit for hyping it and promoting it.

      I wouldn't call it poor. If I were Neuromod I would not jump the gun after MuteButton. Wait until AFTER there are thousands of positive testimonials. THEN it's a news story.

      My thoughts exactly. If successful, they could become huge but at this time they don't appear to have the capital to expand at a faster rate.

      Let’s be thankful the media isn’t all over it (yet). If it were, the flow of people getting in Neuromod’s waiting line would be even bigger than they are now, it’d take longer before you’d get your call, and the date you could get your appointment booked would be much further away. And then that would be what people were complaining about.

      Since Neuromod clearly has enough customers flooding their to-call lists as it is, I’m sure they figured they’d start with us, before bringing more attention to them, so as not to get swamped.

      Good luck to all going for their appointment next week!

      I have emailed them asking if they will be looking at releasing in the UK in the next few months. I will let you all know if I get a response.

      Please do let us know, I'm in the UK and I'm thinking whether I should apply to go to Dublin now or wait for the UK release. On one hand I'm impatient to try the device, I think trying it at the manufacturer's institutions is better than in a generic clinic with a quickly trained audiologist, and that the price will go up once they make it available in UK. London private clinics might charge several thousands pounds for the device and its calibration and recalibrations, so going now to Dublin might be better cost-wise.

      And Good luck to all the pioneers who are going in the next few weeks.

      We're still looking for a volunteer(s) to help manage the Lenire User Experience Group.

      Very roughly, some of the next steps would be:

      - Review filled in forms of people who signed up, to be part of the group, and make final selection;
      - Get some advice from researcher(s) on how to set up our data collection in a scientifically valid way;
      - Define data points to be collected;
      - Set up data collection tool (we use SurveyMonkey, have a paid plan for it, but other options can be discussed);
      - Communicate with the User Experience Group, keep them all informed/engaged, etc.;
      - Report to me and @Hazel on progress;
      - Report on outcomes through blog/podcast/Tinnitus Talk threads.

      This, obviously, requires project management skills and takes significant time, effort and self-initiative from anyone interested. And the person needs to have some history here, as this position requires an element of trust.

      Please send a PM if you feel you'd be up for this - I and Hazel are very busy with multiple projects and we'd really need all the help we can get here. If we can't get help for this, then we have to simplify the group and our goals, which would be a shame.

      Yes, please do volunteer if you have project management skills and want to make a difference!

      We really want to steer this thing properly, so that the whole community can get the best possible information on user experience, without having to rely on anecdotal information alone.

      But this takes time, effort and dedication, and we're just a small group of volunteers with plenty of other projects on our plate.

      You would have to be able to spend significant time and effort on this in the coming months, starting pretty much immediately.

      We know from a comment by Jason Levy on Ross O'Neill's LinkedIn profile that Lenire is supposed to come to the UK this summer but we don't know any more than this as of now. Crossing my fingers that Neuromod will give us more information soon!

      I asked yesterday but the lady wouldn’t give me any info regarding the UK... So frustrating if they did come to the UK in summer...

      The whole thing is so stressful... Big investment financially but emotionally too.

      Great news. Is this "London Tinnitus Treatment Clinic" the same as the Tinnitus Clinic (https://www.thetinnitusclinic.co.uk/) or is it different? It looks different (https://www.thelondontinnitustreatmentclinic.co.uk/) which is good news I guess, as the Tinnitus Clinic definitely needs competitors. My only doubt is whether the prices will go up considerably for service in London.

      I have been wondering the same.

      The London Tinnitus Treatment Clinic do have an office in Marylebone however. This is literally down the road from my office and would be beyond perfect.

      Probably the wise choice. If the skill and experience of the clinician / audiologist is going to have a bearing on the effectiveness on the device I will be looking to do the same.

      Very insightful, Candy:

      In fact, the emotional difficulties involved are greater than the financial ones.
      As I reported previously, I had the same high hopes for Desyncra (at a cost of $5,269.00), and after dutiful application (36 weeks) it had as little effect as shining a flashlight on my head would have had.

      It was so demoralizing that I regretted ever having heard about it.

      However, there is far more substantial evidence for the scientific legitimacy regarding this treatment.

      I firmly believe that there are non-pleceboistic grounds for being confident about this.
      After all, it's 19 years into the 21st Century; about time for an effective treatment.
