My nails were too short and I had difficulty removing a custom molded earplug in my right ear.

While I was fumbling with the earplug in my right ear, it made a lot of loud noises for maybe 5 seconds, and now my hearing in that ear is noticeably reduced. When I talk I can only hear my voice in my unaffected left ear.

My question is, how much noise can touching earplugs in your ear make? Did I screw up my ear again?

I had a similar problem about two weeks ago. It resulted in a spike that lasted 1 or 2 days. I don't think you did any permanent damage.

That's good to hear. My earplugs each have an "antenna" which you pull on to get it out. They make a loooot of noise when you touch it. My right earplug's antenna is too short so it's hard to pull out. I've just attached a red string to it to make it easier to pull, but it still makes noise. Any ideas on what I can do to extend that antenna thing?

What is the NRR of your plugs?

They're supposed to reduce 17 dB with these filters. I know they're a bit too short for custom molded ones (don't reach second canal bend)
