Masking High-Frequency Tinnitus

      Tinnitus Since:
      11/2016
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Carbon Monoxide poisoning
      How can I mask high frequency tinnitus? It's driving me insane, a piercing 13 kHz tone and white noise above that...

      I'll put the radio on but it's not clear enough to reach those ranges...

      Does the brain ever give up trying to seek out signals at these frequencies?

      With old age, high frequencies are lost, however no tinnitus is always present? Why is that?

      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Otosclerosis
      "No tinnitus is present" is incorrect. Older people who lose hearing sometimes do have tinnitus. We haven't cracked the code that explains why hearing loss & tinnitus don't always go hand in hand.
