Me, Josh Olson

Hello everyone, I am Josh Olson. I've had tinnitus as long as I can remember, I've always heard a high pitched ringing that never went away. Fortunately I don't believe I have it that badly, as I don't really notice it unless I focus on it or it is dead silent. I have no clue what might have caused it, as I don't remember ever not having it, but my family has a history of ear problems (brother and sister both partially deaf). As far as personal details go, I am currently a junior in high school, aiming to go to Northern Arizona University.

Any of you have a similar story, and any methods to help reduce it?
Also, any ideas what might have caused it?

I've always had a bit of T my whole life but last week it got quite loud
Found white noise at night very helpful, also distracting myself and relaxation techniques
I'm also going to see my doctor and a counselor
