I posted an update 1-2 months back telling people my tinnitus was basically gone, but now it's completely gone.

Just in the last several days, my ears would get a temporary pitched ring and then disappear. After a few of these, my faint tinnitus disappeared and my left hear is symmetrical with my right ear now.

Come to think of it, it happened right after I purchased the German pharma grade Ginkgo.

Now I am covering my ears in complete silence and I don't hear anything.

This is amazing. You CAN RECOVER FROM TINNITUS.

I am convinced GINKGO works for curing tinnitus.. the problem is US supplements are BS and contain no active ingredients.

Get the WILLMAR SCHWABE GERMAN GINKGO. Expensive but it works!

Hopefully it's gone for good, but the tinnitus lasted for about 4 months with the initial 2 months being the worst.

Also I am convinced a lot of tinnitus is caused by eustachian tube dysfunction. My right ear also got tinnitus after barotrauma from HBOT.

      That's really interesting.

I'm also taking ginkgo each day (60mg) because I noticed it helps me focus and solve math problems for extended periods of time (probably because my brains get more blood).
Yesterday I took twice as much as I have an exam coming up and I started feeling really bad, I was actually quite worried. Apart from feeling dizzy and sick my T also spiked. I don't think it lowered my T more than 20% though as I have a calibrated method to measure the volume. But in all honesty that 20% could be just to due habituation and less stress.

Can you tell us more about your experiences with ginkgo? How much you take, did it ever make you ill, how you react to it, etc.

I take 40 mg a day of the pharma grade stuff. WILLMARE SCHWABE.

I credit the Ginkgo because it was the only treatment I was undergoing over the past 2 months

      Some tips:

      Don't stress.

Stay positive, believe you can get better. Imagine yourself getting better.

Don't believe the science and doctors... Don't see yourself as a victim and wallow in grief.

I made a full recovery from -50 db sudden hearing loss in 4-5 months.

Arches Ginkgo is supposed to be better quality but it doesn't help most people. Ginkgo is a blood thinner so you must go off of it before surgeries so the blood clots properly. I need a surgery done and I found that out recently. I have not taken Ginkgo in awhile and don't believe it helped when I did.

I forgot this is under success stories.

That is great. Can I ask how you got your tinnitus and how loud it was (ex. could you hear it over everything)? If it is the same as mine then maybe it might help.

As a dietary supplement, Nature's Way in the US distributes and markets a standardised extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves (the EGb 761 Formula) under the name Gingold Nature's Way.

The French company Beaufour-Ipsen and its German subsidiary Ipsen Pharma are co-developing EGb 761 with Dr Willmar Schwabe Group. Beaufour-Ipsen (France) is developing EGb 761 as Tanakan, Dr Willmar Schwabe Pharmaceuticals (Germany) as Tebonin and Ipsen Pharma (Germany) as Rökan.

I too am convinced that ETD can cause T, but I'm still not sure as to what the mechanism is. But that's great news for you!

Yes. it's EGb 761. Virtually all of the retail Ginkgo in the US is useless. Many contain just rice and asparagus powder. It's a scam. You need to get pharma grade Ginkgo. Anything from GERMANY that says EGb 761 should suffice.

Mine are 20 mg tablets though not 40.

it absolutely does cause T. i got raging T in both ears after HBOT treatment. when the right ear unplugged, the T went away in that ear, but I still had T from the left that suffered from SHL.

if your T is caused by ETD than it is definitely curable. if your T is from sudden hearing loss it is also curable.

the hard to cure T is probably the noise induced variety, however I do believe if you take GINGKO/MAGNESIUM + do HBOT right away you can reverse it, but you must act fast

doctors are useless, you must do combination therapy.

This one mentioned above https://www.amazon.com/Tebonin-Egb-761-30-tablets/dp/B0096R3P0A/ is 120 mg. So is that too high of a dose since you are just taking 20 mg twice a day????

yes - 50 DB hearing loss from about 3000 hz and up

the hearing has completely recovered but it took a few months. the biggest gains happened in the first 10 days though

yes I feel that as the tinnitus vanished, high frequency hearing has improved. I'm talking about 8K plus.

only taking 40 mg a day of the egb761

      i think dosage matters too.

i remember one time I took too much and it spiked my tinnitus.

i stick with 40-80 mg max. 120 mg is too much.

There are trials of this German pharma grade ginkgo with reported effectiveness to back up the OP's success after taking this. Check out this site talking about the benefits of ginkgo for tinnitus and it makes reference to this brand of ginkgo being effective in several trials. But of course we know there is no magic bullet for all cases of T as each person may be different.

yep. i'm not BSing. people think Gingko is bullshit because US gingko IS BULLSHIT. most of the stuff you can buy at the stores are fake.

      Tinnitus
One of the frequently prescribed treatments for tinnitus is Ginkgo biloba extract. Therefore, randomized, placebo-
controlled clinical trials of Ginkgo biloba extract preparations were searched for and reviewed systematically. There is
evidence of efficacy for the standardized extract, EGb 761(®) (Dr Willmar Schwabe GmbH & Co KG Pharmaceuticals,
Karlsruhe, Germany), in the treatment of tinnitus from three trials in patients in whom tinnitus was the primary
complaint. [8] Thus, ginkgo biloba extract may benefits people with tinnitus.
