New Member Introducing Myself

I have recently developed tinnitus and finding it very difficult to cope with the constant high pitch ringing in my left ear and since last week a lower pitch chirpy noise in my right ear.

I also have the feeling which comes and goes throughout the day that my ears are 'full' and when this happens my ears are painful.

I have seen an ENT specialist and have had a CT scan which has come back normal. I am due to see him again tomorrow.

I am trying to remain positive which is very difficult and have read many comments posted by people on this forum.

 

The best thing to do is to stay calm. That is the most important thing you should do. If you have been to the ENT and had CT scan, and everything is negative, you should try blood test and other things that might affect your body that might lead to tinnitus. Some doctors will be useless, hence we need to do a lot of research on our own and try find a cause and try and guide\help oGP gp or docotor.

As I said don't panic just stay calm, especially if your T is mild. Also, try and cut down on salt, sugar and any fast food, and just try to cut it down slowly if you don't feel like it. I managed to do 7 exams in really hard uni with my mild T so dont panic.

That is all the help I can give you as I am in the same boat and my T is very loud, I would say severe at this point . and I am trying everything acupuncture, cupping vitamins etc.. Everyone is not the same so I hope T goes away in your case . I am also based in London .

 

This is the right approach that will help you in the long run. Don't expect miracle as the body needs time to heal and to adjust to the new normal of T. It will definitely get better with time. Also try some good strategies from the success stories. Each person is different so don't try to rush it.

 

Thank you Iqbal and Billie48 for your replies. I am also getting a lot of muffled hearing and the feeling of ear fullness and the constant popping that my ears are trying to equalise. CT scan did not show any abnormalities. Pin drop hearing showed some hearing loss in the left ear. High pitch tinnitus like a grinding skill saw left ear with lower pitch chirpy noise right ear. I saw my ENT yesterday who offered me grommets insertion which is scheduled for tomorrow as I am due to fly end of the month. I hope all goes well. I have read more negative outcomes than positives on the various forums but I cannot go on with feeling the way I do without trying some thing out!

 

So your t is mild and severe at the same time? How does that work lol.

 

Sorry if was not clear enough .. When it first started it was mild I beleive 4-5/10 after i did my 6th exam it increased twice .. now I would say it's 8-9/10 . Hope that clarifies .

I had the grommets insertion and immediately felt like my ears were permanently submerged. I felt much worse then before! I had the grommets removed a week later as my symptoms had not improved! Immediately following the grommets removal I had a severe vasovagal reaction and felt severe dizziness and vomiting which lasted for a few hours. I felt as if though I had been on a long roller coaster ride. It's been four days since my grommets removal and my hearing has got back to how it was prior to grommets insertion. Although I still get the feeling of fullness. The tinnitus is the same.
I am now optimistic and trying sound therapy.

Thank you for your update.
Remember keep your ears dry while your ear drums are healing back up to prevent infection.
I do hope your tinnitus settles for you over the next few days and you find sound therapy helpful.
