Hey there, I lived with tinnitus since 1992 from a very loud rock show but about 3 years ago it went to the next level with hyperacusis and TTTS (one ENT didn't believe me and didn't believe it exists). Now my life is all about finding a way to get back to where I was 3 years ago. I have been looking at the forum for a while but joined to download something today. So Hello! And GOD TINNITUS SUCKS!

Hi there, I think monitoring some recordings I was doing on a new to me tape machine too loud with bad headphones is what caused the increase in T and H but I really don't know. Anymore I am just glad I had 25 years of rockin' before this hell. Thanks for asking but if I don't reply anymore it is just cause I am more a lurker on forums

      HI @Will Foster

When the original cause of tinnitus was "noise induced" and it gets worse, the usual reason is further exposure to overly loud sounds or headphone use. Someone with "noise induced" tinnitus as in your case, using headphones even at low volume there is a risk of making the tinnitus spike and unfortunately this can make it increase to a new permanent level. Sorry to sound so sobering but I have found this is often the case, in the amount of people that I have corresponded with, that have noise induced tinnitus and use headphones and notice an increase.

Hope you start to feel better soon.
      Michael

clinical trials to restore hearing loss might be the only way out of this mess.

bio-science advances or we all can just kill ourselves!

So dangerous to think just a few exposures to loud head phones can cause T&H increase....=[
