At the moment my asthma is severe and it's hard just to breath, talk or walk about or do the smallest of tasks.

I'm on asthma tablets along with my 4 inhalers and nebs and 2 lots of antibiotics together for a chest infection and week two of prednisolone that is going be a long 5 week treatment with tapering.
Good news my ears are loving the steroids and gone really quiet so that's a blessing.
Lungs just need to settle back down again and behave.....lots of love glynis

      Hi glynis,

just out of curiosity, what dose of prednisolone do you take? Did the T go away on the first day already? And what's the stuff you're inhaling (what's nebs, b.t.w?).

Hope it stays that low for you after tapering off!

I was given low dose steroids a few years back and they really helped the T. I still have loads left, many times I'm tempted.

I am so happy for you Glynis. Long may it last.

My ENT Doctor refused to prescribe me Pred when I got tinnitus 6 months ago. He said I only had a mild high freq hearing loss which was age related. I got tinnitus after taking Citalopram 10mg for 7 days. I wish he had prescribed it and now I think it is too late for me.

The T is driving me insane.

I know It will come back really loud as the steroids finish but taking steroids long term is not advised so I have 4 inhalers wich two are steroids that go straight in my lungs.
Enjoying a nice tinnitus break at the moment and well needed.....lots of love glynis

if prednisone is helpful that strongly implies an inflammatory pathology of some kind, doesn't it? I assume you've already tried all the safe-for-long-term treatments for inflammation, in terms of diet, various supplements, severe dietary changes, etc?

      Yes.
My tinnitus is due to Menieres and on medication for it .
I'm a sever asthmatic and medications for inflammation send my breathing bad so only prednisalone helps my lungs and my ears benefit from it when on it.
Long term problems with steroids can worsen my Rhumitoid and ostio arthritis and give me a moon face and can impact on my sleep taking steroids.

Some times I need a weeks cause and sometimes need the treatment for weeks and under the hospital sever asthma unit.

I have had Menieres around ten years + and asthma longer
I love my life and count each day as a blessing .....
      Lots of love glynis

Have you guys tried Wobenzyme N? It's supposed to have good anti inflammatory properties and help people with T. 10 pills a day.
