I accidentally set my fire alarm of while I was making dinner (don't know what that says about my cooking skills, hah.)

Unfortunately the incident has spiked my tinnitus. Not to an unbearable level but loud enough to be more bothersome than it was before. Damn it. I have been doing so good the past year and then bam. One freak accident and I get a setback. I really, really hope that it is just a temporary spike that will go after a few days.

Does anyone have experience with spikes after fire alarms?

Hi, take the battery off, or use electric tape and dismantle, disarm your fire alarm, ASAP.

Did you burn the food? If not, then your stove could be emitting too much carbon monoxide instead and you should have the gas company test it.

Yeah, I accidentally burnt some oil. I half forgot that the stove was turned on

Luckily the spike has calmed down today. I'm so relieved that no permanent damage was done.

Glad you feel better. These spikes can be a setback. I was 3 months into this, and getting better when the alarm clock randomly was too close and my T spiked big time back to where I started, and it took weeks to get better. So frustrating when this happens.

Oh, sorry to hear this. Glad you are feeling better. I removed every fire alarm from my house. Chances of me burning the house are fewer than the alarm going off and hurting my ears!!!! I do have a carbon monoxide one near my furnace and I do not go near the furnace ….ever.
