This only started happening a few days ago. I'm confused because my T is from NIHL mostly in one ear. IN that ear a strange sound has come about. Not like T, but from moving my jaw. It's like a squeal but not as pitchy. I don't know how to describe. It's jnot your normal crackling in one's ear that some people freak out about. No, it's like two things rubbing against each other in my ear.

I've also been meaning to ask about clicking that sometimes comes when I'm moving around like jumping. It's like something moving in my skull near my ear.

What could these things possibly be? They don't distress me. They are not constant. I just don't know what's wrong with my jaw.

Have a read up on Tempromadibular joint problems and it might give you the answers you seek .
Your jaw joint is right by your middle ear so any inflammation or cracking etc in the joint can start ear problems....lots of love glynis

Yeah I guessso. I also have a connective tissue disorder so tmj is pretty common for us. Just strange.

By the way @glynis-harberon you rock! I hope you know that. your presence on these forums is just so so so amazing and I really appreciate the effort you go to reply. <3

      Hi Sarah,

don't panic. There's indeed something moving in your skull, it's your jawbones.

Hearing it from time to time is normal. You could ask your dentist to check if you have temporomandibular joint disorder. However, as long as there's no pain there's probably no reason to do anything.

Sorry, just saw that Glynis already gave basically the same answer.

I think a squeel from jaw extension is pretty normal, especially as we age. I know people without tinnitus who have this as well.
