Hi everyone, I am new to Tinnitus Talk. I am looking for any kind of help.

I’ve had tinnitus for about 10-12 years and have learned to deal with it. It’s a high pitched hum.

But recently, about 1-2 months ago, I started having a fast paced tapping (sounds like a racing heartbeat in your ear) in my right ear. If I push my ear closed, it stops, but I can’t do that all day. Lol. I also have some hearing loss and have worn hearing aids for about 3 years which does drown out the tinnitus somewhat.

I’ve been reading a lot of your comments which seem helpful. I was going to go to a doctor but have no idea which one to go to, ENT, GP etc.

Thanks for any help or ideas.

It could be TTTS. A muscle that goes outta whack in the ear. It's supposed to help against loud sounds. But malfunctions with some people with tinnitus.
