      This paper has nothing new, but is I think the best source of knowledge of what we actually know about H.

      It covers everything from diagnostic to treatments and all the different forms of H.

      It's like a study of all studies on H. It should be given to every ENT IMO.

      Unfortunately it was written in French. I translated it online, it's not perfect but readable.

      Hope it can help.

      Very interesting.

      "It also found that the anticipation of a loud and
      unpleasant can lead to contraction of the two middle ear
      muscles. Indeed, the mere sight of a toy gun, 24 of the
      30 patients studied by Djupesland showed general
      muscular contraction of the middle ear, including the
      contraction of MTT."

      I could be one of those 24 patients (-;
      Also the following part about tonic tensor tympani (6.4). was intriguing.
      I downloaded the article and will read it.
      Thanks.

      This hypothesis is what most hyperacusis research is suggesting. I am interested to see how this will fare in the future or what more there is to know.

      That is so great of you to have translated that article, although personally I can read the french. One correction before reading anything besides the title. ''Etat de la science'' should be translated as '' State of THE science' not 'State of Science''.

      Maybe you can also send a copy of your translation to ''The Hyperacusis Network'' if you have not done so.
