      Hi everyone.

I'm a 30 year old guy. I suffer from chronic migraine, which in my case is a continuous 24/7 headache, and bilateral tinnitus. I've had the headache for 10 years in April 2014 (started April 2004), and the Tinnitus started December 2004. Mine is a white noise type, hissing sound, bilateral, about 7/10 loud, 7/10 distress.

I'm about to get Botox injections for the constant headache. The Tinnitus started 8 months after the headache started. I've always thought they are connected.

I wanted to post some information on a clinical trial that is recruiting in the USA, and will be coming to Europe eventually, but I notice that I need to have at least 1 post so I decided to introduce myself.

I think I saw a story recently on botox and migraines. From memory but don't hold me to it! the botox gave about 6 months relief. Hopefully the clinical trials are positive for migraine sufferers. I have no idea what the outcome might be for tinnitus?

Hi carlover, I remember you from the old RNID forums.

My tinnitus stabilized around March-May 2012 time, and stopped fluctuating in volume and pitch. Strangely enough this was right after a very traumatic bereavement. My tinnitus is still loud, and very distressing, but at least it's stable now. I'm not receiving any treatment for it as such, here in Scotland, but I've signed up to be informed when the VNS trials come to Europe as I think they may come to Glasgow (a VNS trial for stroke, run by the same people from Texas, came to Glasgow). My constant headache was diagnosed as chronic/transformed migraine in August/September of 2012 and I'm waiting for Botox treatment. The waiting on the NHS feels like it goes on forever. I've been waiting since December for Botox. I'm hoping to have a date for it on Friday (to be given a date for an appointment). Yes I'm still in Scotland. I've seen some of your posts on here. Sorry to hear you haven't got the relief you need. How long have you had it? April will be 10 years with the headache for me. 9 years 3 months of Tinnitus.

Yove still got that dodgy name then !!!!! You must be one of the only guys on here that has been over to belgium to see that Dr wilden(name?) seems your coping a lot better thank god.Me since I was 26 so thats 28 years. I was doing ok till an ear infection ramped it right up and ear pressure is horrible.

I know from my own stuff that habituation is all about how loud it is ,When i first got it I thought id go mad but i did habituate ,it annoyed me but nothing else. Now it does get me down a lot and habituation isnt going to happen anytime soon.
      Good luck

yes I've been to see professor dirk de ridder (neurosurgeon). great guy. he's moved to new zealand now, but the clinic in antwerp belgium still exists, it's just in a new hospital, www.brai2n.com I would still like to give TMS a proper go in the future if I can get these headaches under control. Stimulating my brain with tens and tDCS (direct current stimulation) while I have chronic migraine just makes my headache worse and tinnitus louder at present. never got a chance to try TMS in Belgium because of that.

the dr. lutz wilden guy is a doctor from germany who uses low level laser therapy to treat hearing loss and tinnitus.

It's been over a year. How are you doing now? Have you tried new treatments?
