      Hi everybody,

I'm new to the group. I am 56, mostly healthy. I experienced shortness of breath and chest pain from standing and walking. I was sent for a CT scan angiogram. Due to being allergic to contrast I was given a prep of Prednisone and Toprol XL. After taking the second round of Toprol XL I heard a sound in my ear like a door closing, followed by ringing. I explained this to the cardiac assistant, the CT tech and the cardiologist but I was given two more doses of the Toprol XL to slow my heart rate.

The scan was negative but I continue to have the tachycardia intermittently and the tinnitus continually. It has been 5 months now.

      Any suggestions for the tinnitus?

Is it the case that your tinnitus hasn't faded at all compared to how it was 5 months ago?

Hi, Cynthia. I'm sorry about the Toprol causing the tinnitus. It really bites that your T hasn't faded in five months.

Medication induced tinnitus can be really shocking and unexpected.
