I'm 15 years old and I have pretty bad tinnitus, I've had it for a few years now and with time it only gets worse. I haven't been to a doctor or anything because I just thought it was normal.
I think the reason why is because I listen to a lot of music (not on a high volume though), according to Spotify I've listened to 99,403 minutes of music in 2017.

Is there a treatment? Is this permanent?? Previously I thought it was normal but I've talked with friends and none of them have it and they told me it wasn't normal(for my age). Is there something I can do??? Like will it work if I stop listening to music/stop using headphones as much as I do??? Because as I've said, it doesn't go away and whenever it's quiet it only gets worse.

Have I ruined my hearing now??? If there's a treatment I'm pretty sure I'm too young and my family can't afford any of that at the moment.

The only thing we can tell you at this moment: get asap to a specialist.
There might be a dozen reasons why you have tinnitus, some scary, some less.

In case that cullprit might be sound, I would advise to not use any more headphones for the time being, also try to protect yourself from loud noises and don't put your music too loud.
To deal with your current T, I advise to always have some low background noise, don't go and sit in silence.

The bad news is that there is no magical tinnitus cure.
The good thing is that you are young and that you might recover, but you NEED to visit a doctor.

Wow, almost 100,000 minutes of music in 1 year? I highly suggest that you stop doing this, your hearing and tinnitus can only get worst. You kinda remind me of me, when i was your age, but 100,00 minutes is too much. Possibly go see an audiologist and see just how bad your hearing is. You are 15 and the whole world is your oyster buddy, protect that hearing and layoff the music and loud stuff.

Tinnitus volume and your hearing could possibly get worst if you don't protect your hearing. Headphones should be avoided as mention already. Take care of your ears, you have an entire lifetime ahead of you....

      Take care :)

Stop being exposed to all moderately loud noises (e.g., vacuum cleaner) for at least a year. Hopefully once your body has a chance to recover, your T will begin to fade.

      HI @Fulochjobbig

I am going to give you some advice and I hope you take it and act on it accordingly. If you don't stop listening to music through headphones or whatever you are doing that has caused you to develop tinnitus so severely your future isn't going to look very bright. Tinnitus can be very debilitating and I advise you to listen to @JurgenG and @fishbone For your own peace of mind see an ENT doctor for tests and stop listening to loud music now. Click on the links below and read my posts that you might find helpful.

      I wish you well.
