Can anyone help me understand how matching tinnitus frequency works?

I listen to the frequencies and just don't get how to find my frequency...

I just listen to random ones and in the end I just can't seem to understand how it works.

      1. Play a random frequency X.
      2. Is your tinnitus' frequency higher or lower? Say it's lower.
      3. Play a random frequency lower than X. Let's call it Y.
      3. You know that your tinnitus is between X and Y.

That's it. You can try to narrow down the range by playing frequencies in range X, Y and repeating steps 1-3.

My best approximation of my tinnitus is that it's between 4000 and 5000 Hz.

I've tried so many times, yet I can never be sure I've got it right. Sometimes I get the idea it's around 9000 Hz, and sometimes as high as 14000 Hz.

      Basically what the title says.

I've been listening to a sweeping noise video on YouTube and it has been relieving as hell more so than anything else. It's been relieving me for months but at some point one of the frequencies within the sweeping started irritating me, which leads me to believe that my ear was a bit more sensitive on that day to the frequency so it just coming on and off ruined the whole video for me so I had to relief myself in another way. Now I'm back to being normal again so I'm listening to the video once more.

But it has made me realize something. The sweeping noise video has lots of frequencies and I think the reason why I feel relief is because it comes along and goes and just sort of reliefs me for a sec and then keeps doing that for all the while, but I wish to know what the frequency is exactly which gives me that relief.

How do I find out the best way?

Would love to know if there's some sort of dial thing

I found out guys. It's 12 kHz. I'm in disbelief but this seems to have got rid of all the disoriented and muffled hearing I've dealt with for a year and a half. I'm assuming this is a good sign.

What I did is checking this YouTube channel.

Played the frequencies each for 10 minutes to see what my ear would do, and 12 kHz gave me the most relief. Went down and up from there and it got worse again, and then went back to 12 kHz and left it on while sleeping

Anyway take your time to find your relief. Hope it works.

What if you have multiple frequencies?

my right ear is 9600 khz.
my left ear varies between 2000 and 2350 khz.

      Help!

Good news! So are you saying that white noise or Brown noise, notched at your frequency, reduced your ear fullness and muffled feeling?

Have you ever had hyperacusis? I'm struggling to find noise therapy that works for me without making my ears feel more irritated.
