      Tinnitus Since:
      1991
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Surgery performed for Perilymp Fistula
Since 1991, I've dealt with T, yet learned to live with it. I've suffered with being light headed on a daily basis. Episodes consistent for months at a time, and then on and off. Most days I'm a 7, but are days where I'm a 3 or a 2. Like a lot of folks, I only know what works and what doesn't for me. But people with Tinnitus do their own research and know as much or more than a lot of so called doctors or I should say specialists.

      There's a point to this:
A couple years ago, I had a bike crash, and caught myself hard with the heel of my right hand. Hit hard enough to apparently cause a whiplash effect. I suffered with suicidal pain, that was radiating to the right side of neck, ear, face, teeth and shoulder. For weeks, I did nothing but try and relieve the pain. Then while working on my truck, I fell forward hitting the top of my head flat on. This must have released something, because the pain went away. However, as a fitness nut (64) it was disturbing from that point one, I've never been able to do any strenuous work without bringing on episodes of pain for several days afterwards until I healed again. Still have those episodes but they're tolerable, just annoying. It seemed every time I was lifting I was using the muscles in my neck and shoulders. In my research, I traced the muscles connected to my inner ears. Some of those episodes I experienced, besides the chronic T, was visual disturbances, quizzy stomach, brain zaps after closing my eyes about to go to sleep, pain in my ears, pain in my jaw, teeth etc..etc... all because of the connection of the muscles down my neck, to tip of shoulder, back to my neck. A complete triangle..

So after seeing a Upper Cervical Doctor, Regular Chiropractors, ENT''s and taking supplements, I realized that my lifelong problem was coming from my neck. Left Side to be exact. You see it started During Basic Training, we were doing trunk twisters during P.T. on a cold morning at Ft. Jackson, S. Carolina. Their tough to do. It was then when I first injured my neck, it cramped up and pulled my chin to my left shoulder. I had pulled my Torticollis muscle. Doctor told me this was the beginning for me. I've actually yawned real big and sometimes can feel that muscle giving way and trying to cramp up. I've finally pinpointed my focus. Involving my Brain Stem, my neck, over to the inner ear, to the end of the shoulder, across the back to middle of my neck.

No Supplements, No Adjustments, No ENT's. Nothing has compared to the sessions I've had with a good physical therapist. Massage, stretching, and pressure point massage. My light headiness is holding steady and Tinnitus is blended in. The Nucca Doctor adjusted my "Atlas" a couple of times until I finally was able to hold and heal in place. It took 6 or more sessions. Go to Youtube. Type in NUCCA Doctor or Upper Cervical Atlas Adjustments. Your Tinnitus could be as simple as your ATLAS out of place. Like anything, it may work for you.

Now things are lined up, I'm slowly healing...but you have to eat what only nourishes your body and mind, drink lots of water, sunshine (20 minutes a day) I've learned to live without Caffeine, Chocolate, Lots of Sugars, Lots of Salts, NSAIDS, Protein Mix containing Nitric Oxides, as these items will make your Tinnitus worse. Wearing a mouth piece at night will also work against your Tinnitus, placing undue pressure on your jaw, shoulders, neck, etc...increases the volume. Calming Meditation and relaxation will help it all. Please note: If your Tinnitus sometimes seems very low volume, or you feel or hear short fluctuations and different positions of where it's coming from. Take note, its being affected by either something you drank, something you ate. It can also be effected by sleep positions. Where you place your arms in reference to your neck. Lack of Sleep can effect the volume of your ringing too.

Relief is accomplished more from whatever it takes to relax the Triangle of Muscles...I mentioned above.
What effects the Triangle of Muscles? Driving with one hand up on top of the steering wheel, sitting at a computer all day, with your shoulders scrunched up. Here's one for weight lifters or anyone working out with weights. Doing Shrugs with dumbbells will definitely pull on the triangle of muscles. May even be a starter of tinnitus for some.

Take a Multiple Vitamin, Vitamin C 1000, B-12 w/folic acid or B-Complex Vitamins, Turmeric with Pepper,
Lot's of Berries, Nuts, Apple Cider Vinegar, 1-Tsp every other day of Black Strap Molasses (Magnesium) and Cherry Tart.

I've had some success, but my diet, which means "way of life" is all based around lowering the volume of Tinnitus.
